Can I get electrocuted?

Nope.

Our X-BODY machines are safer and more advanced than the technology used for medical rehabilitation applications. EMS Training uses low frequency electric impulses which will not cause harm to the human body. The impulses cause the muscles to contract, so the result is similar to the actual movement and regular contractions of the muscles.

The R&D team at X-BODY has worked closely with doctors and scientists to develop the most advanced and safest machines in the industry. Our equipment is cleared by the FDA and European regulating bodies.

Does it hurt?

No pain. All gain.

This is where X-BODY EMS technology differs from other stimulators. The perfectly positioned and developed electrodes provide a smooth and complete muscle stimulation without any unpleasant or pinching feeling. The sensation may be unusual at first but something most people get used to very quickly and actually enjoy!

During your first session, your trainer, with your feedback will set the depth, frequency and intensity of the impulses to meet your personal needs depending on your body type, age, gender and level of fitness.

The impulses can also actually be quite therapeutic and help alleviate muscle tension. However, if you experience any discomfort during your session at any time, just speak with your certified trainer. We will be by your side at all times and can easily adjust the intensity on the spot.

So do I have to move and workout?

We said painless. Not easy. Womp womp.

If you thought you’d be lying on the floor or on a couch, we’re sorry.

What makes EMS training so effective is that while you are in movement and contracting your muscles naturally, the impulses significantly augment the muscle engagement - even those weaker muscles. During conventional workouts, we only recruit about 40% of our muscle fibers; with the suit, we can reach up to 90%.

Your trainer will guide you through a series of simple exercises adapted to your physical condition, mobility and goals.

Can I eat just before the training?

Preferably not.

During the movements, which will include intensive core work, the body is not able to properly digest. As a result, you may experience nausea if training with a full stomach. We recommend eating 2-3 hours prior to training - if you need to eat for energy before your workout, we recommend  a light protein shake or snack. Don’t forget to refuel after your workout with a healthy serving of protein! Curious about nutrition? We can help too. Just ask your trainer about our nutrition coaching.

What should I bring with me to the training and what should I wear?

Your positive energy.

We will provide you with special under-layers to be worn under the suit. Since the workout is low-impact, you can wear sneakers, socks with grips or go with bare feet (studio policies may apply). Really, it is your personal preference.

Hydration before and after is key so we always recommend having a water bottle with you. We have water bottles for sale too, but hey, planet earth is pretty cool so let’s be kind to it.

Are sessions always 1:1 or can I workout with a partner?

It’s up to you. That’s the Suited experience.

Whether you want to work out alone or with up to 2 partners, you tell us. Workout buddies can be motivating for some. Just keep in mind that your first session will be 1:1 in order to make sure that we get to know each other and answer all of your questions. We’re happy to do back-to-back sessions if you want to try it out with someone.

How much room do you need? Can you really come anywhere?

All we need is a plug and the space for a yoga mat.

You read that right. Whether you want to work out from your room, at one of our partnered gyms, your hotel (or even your cubicle!), we can make it happen. No need for any special equipment!

How often should I do EMS?

EMS = Efficient, Smart training.

Ideally, EMS training should replace one of your conventional sport or exercise sessions each week. If you are currently suffering from an injury or are just too busy for a regular workout session, you can do up to 2 sessions per week. In order to support the regeneration of muscles, we impose a mandatory 48 hours of rest between your sessions.

How quickly will I see results?

Immediately. We’re serious.

After your first session, head to the mirror and check yourself out. You are not going crazy, you will look and feel tighter. Booty sitting a little higher. Arm definition. It’s true. But like any form of training, EMS should be done regularly to maintain results. Noticeable changes in the way your clothes fit and strength can usually be felt after four sessions with proper nutrition.

Scientific studies have shown the following results over a 12-week period using EMS training program: 9% body fat loss, 30% increase in strength, 89% of people felt stronger and fitter.

BONUS! EMS training helps treat cellulite as a result of the massaging effect of the impulses of skin tissue.

Can anyone do EMS training?

Unfortunately not.

EMS training is suitable for most individuals unless you’re pregnant or have a pacemaker.

Similarly to other forms of training, there are a few other medical conditions for which we recommend consulting your physician. These will be discussed prior to your first session.

Although EMS training cannot be performed during pregnancy, it has been proven to be an effective way to help with the treatment of diastasis recti and recovery of post-natal abdominal strength.

You may start EMS training at 15 years old, but you must be accompanied by an adult until you’re 18.

Can EMS training be applied for rehabilitation and injury recovery?

Yes!

EMS training is an ideal solution during rehabilitation, since you are not using any heavy weights and not adding extra pressure on the joints.

What should I expect after the training? Will I be sore?

Say hello to the runner’s high.

You can expect a rush of happiness thanks to the release of endorphins. You may experience muscle fatigue immediately after the session, but muscle soreness will kick in after 12-24 hours. However, delayed onset muscle soreness may peak at around 48 hours post workout. Make sure you stay well hydrated as it helps with muscle recovery!

Feeling tight in places you didn’t even know was possible? It’s totally normal. Muscle soreness will feel its most intense after the first session as EMS works on deep muscles that are hard to recruit through normal training. Muscle stiffness may last longer than after a normal workout session but this will gradually disappear with regular training.

Is there a cancelation policy?

Yes.

We ask that you cancel your session 12 hours in advance to avoid losing 1 credit. You can simply cancel online, or by calling us.

Can I be late?

Are we talking 5 minutes or 15?

Our sessions are 30 minute time slots. We want all of our guests to get the true suited experience and as a result, we will forfeit your session if you are more than 5 minutes behind. That means you will lose 1 credit. If you arrive within the first 5 minutes of your time slot, we will need to cut your session short. But remember, it is your workout and your gift of wellness so make time for yourself!

Can I use my credits to book sessions for other people?

Yes!

Credits are shareable and transferable. So feel free to sign up friends using your credits for solo or partner sessions! To secure your booking, you will need 1 credit. In case of no show or late cancellation, you will lose your credit.

Can we split credits for partner sessions?

Absolutely!

You will only be charged at booking 1 credit to secure your slot. When you come for your session, you can let us know how you want to split the credits between your crew. Whatever suits you.
